Space Overview
The Cognite tenant improvement project centered on creating a functional, design-forward workspace tailored to support a growing team and evolving workplace needs. Completed in collaboration with Phoenix Design One and Stevens-Leinweber, the project brought together a range of flooring solutions to enhance both performance and visual appeal throughout the space.
Key Challenges & Solutions
Successful execution required careful coordination to integrate new installations with existing conditions. A notable challenge involved matching newly polished concrete to an overlay completed nearly eight years earlier, requiring precise finishing techniques to achieve a consistent appearance.
Tile installation also introduced added complexity, with multiple ceramic products and detailed herringbone patterns incorporated throughout the space. Through careful planning and skilled craftsmanship, layouts were executed with accuracy and consistency.
Material Selection
A diverse material palette helped define each area while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic across the project. The installation included:
- Luxury vinyl tile from leading manufacturers, including Shaw Contract
- Carpet solutions from partners such as J+J Flooring and Interface
- Multiple ceramic tile applications sourced from Concept Surfaces and Garden State Tile
- Polished concrete finishes
- Area rugs for added texture and comfort
Each material was selected to balance durability, functionality, and design intent across the environment.
