Transforming a University Lounge with Innovative Carpet Design
RD Weis was tasked with transforming the Horace Mann Center at Westfield State University, specifying, designing, and installing approximately 250 square yards of Milliken Color Field Carpet Planks. This project also featured a custom logo installation, a new offering from Milliken, and was completed under an MHEC State Contract.
RD Weis presented multiple flooring options to the university for the campus lounge, overcoming the challenge of aligning everyone with the color selection. Given that blue is a prominent color in the university's logo, the final choice included samples with blue to meet the school’s branding requirements.
Expert Execution and Enhanced Functionality
The selected Milliken Color Field Carpet Planks, paired with Milliken Walkoff Quadrus for the entryway, provided underfoot comfort, improved acoustics, and exceptional durability. The walk-off carpet effectively stops dirt and moisture at the door, ensuring easy maintenance, much like the Color Field Carpet Planks.
The result was a successful transformation of the formerly drab communal area into a vibrant and welcoming space for students, showcasing RD Weis's commitment to quality and innovative design solutions.
